Sancho‘s Progress of Easing Into Manchester United

It is safe to say Borussia Dortmund's transfer tactics haven't necessarily gone to plan in regards to cashing in on star winger Jadon Sancho this summer.

The Bundesliga club are believed to be holding out for £108million if they are to sanction the sale of Sancho, but their self-imposed transfer deadline of Monday 10 August has done little to hasten Manchester United's negotiations for the winger.

As soon as a specific timeframe was placed on a deal for Sancho the alarm bells started to ring. Yes, it made sense for Dortmund to desire a resolution for Sancho prior to their pre-season training camp in Switzerland, but it was never going to be a tactic which would lure United into accelerating plans to conclude negotiations as possible.

Senior sources at United were quick to label Dortmund's self-imposed deadline as 'meaningless' and described it as 'artificial' since the summer transfer window actually closes on October 5. There is still two months left to complete a deal, and the transfer of such a world-class talent isn't as simple as some fans would appear to think when drawing on their own experiences playing FIFA 20 and Football Manager.
